The Design Engineer I works as a member of a team to develop custom embedded electronic controls from a customer specification. Work is performed under supervision of the Design Engineering Manager using established procedures where individual performs routine duties involving calculations and simple tests. The Design Engineer may design parts of minor phases of a project; translate technical guidance received from supervisor into usable data application to the particular engineering assignments; and check drawings for technical accuracy.
* Design electronic hardware to meet customer requirements.
* Develop embedded software in accordance with customer specification.
* Develop and specify tests to verify the hardward and software of a product.
* Assist sales and marketing by meeting with customers and potential customers to demonstrate our engineering capabilities.
* Work as a team with project manager and directly with customer to develop specifications to meet their needs.
* Work with customer to provide continuing engineering support during all phases of a design through the life of the product.
* Assist production with various engineering related issues arising during production of products that were designed here and others that were designed by customer.Work on engineering projects as assigned.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent .

1-year experience in field a plus.
*
Familiarity with the C programming lanaguage.
*
Familiarity with microcontrollers.
*
Ability to read a schedumatic diagram
*
Ability to read and create technical documents.
* Familiarity with Linus is preferred.
*
Knowledge and experience in using Lean manufacturing.
*
Knowledge of ECAD systems.
*
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices is desired.
*
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
*
Excellent problem solving skills.
*
Effective communication skills.
*
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint or equivalent.
