Responsibilities
The CNC MACHINIST LEAD- Second shift lead position is responsible for developing a production schedule and implementing it daily. Works with production planning staff to help keep schedules on track. Schedules orders to increase production efficiency. Responsible for matching production capacity needs to workforce and working with supervisor to increase or decrease hours. Also responsible for load leveling the production schedule. Works closely with the Scheduling Department to help develop schedule. Performs a variety of tasks related to CNC machining production equipment. Responsible for the programming of CNC machine tool production equipment. Makes updates or corrections to program as needed. Responsible for basic upkeep and optimizing of the CNC and SPC programs.
Responsible for internal movement of parts via Transformations. Heavily involved with set-ups on CNC machining centers. Responsible for training of employees on basic set-ups and tooling related to CNC machining cenetrs.
Qualifications
10 years experience operating CNC machining (milling) centers working with large parts in a heavy manufacturing environment
Able to edit programs and adjust fixture & cutter comp; Tool Offsets, RPM & Feed Rates, change and adjust program details such as X-Y-Z locations
Overall understanding of optimizing CNC programs as needed
Must have own tools
Intermediate Knowledge of HAAS controls
Intermediate knowledge of GD&T
Experience with large parts and overhead cranes
Experience in a lead roll
2 year technical degree preferred
Aggressive and versatile in work type
Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking skills required
Proven teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
CAD experience in related environment required
