Lead a team responsible for providing analytics research and optimization to Merchandising to drive the integration of data with business decision making. Provide leadership and direction to exempt analytics and optimization professionals in Minneapolis and India. Lead new analytics research and development in data intensive analytics to inform Merchandising and Marketing's strategic initiatives and long term plans.

· Lead a team of optimization professionals, data scientists and analytics experts who can bring their skills and abilities to solving Target Merchandising problems
· Train, coach and develop data science, analytics and optimization professionals to maximize team performance
· Partner with Guest Insights, Strategy, Merchandising Analytics, Target Technology Services (EIM), Teradata, MPSD, Target.com and other cross functional leaders to develop and prioritize new exploratory research and development aligned to Merchandising's strategic initiatives and long range plans. Manage the intake and allocation of new work, aligned to these priorities
· Lead exploratory analytics research in the area of guest behavior, cross channel shopping and Big Data to further insights around Target's opportunities to drive growth
· Oversee, communicate and partner with cross pyramid stakeholders to implement optimization tools, new analytics techniques and methodology for Merchandising
· Manage the expense center budget and related project budgets
· Partners closely with the Sr. Group Manager of Merchandising Analytics
Requirements
· Ph.D. in Optimization Research, Applied Statistics or related field
· 10 years related experience in retail analytics
· 5 years of successful management experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, strategic orientation, organization and planning skills
· Ability to communicate to all levels of Target Management
