Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Delivers products to a variety of customers on a daily basis in a courteous and polite manner; writes up credits and returns as needed; picks up and hauls back freight as required; performs general maintenance of delivery vehicle daily; Performs other duties as directed by general manager; does related work as required with professionalism and efficiency. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES FOR THE CLASS: The work in this class involves the day to day functions of a foodservice delivery position; operates a variety of warehouse equipment, including delivery trucks; unloads, checks in customers products at each account; rotates product upon delivery; assist in putting product away if customer request; assists in other warehouse activities as required; performs general vehicle maintenance and upkeep, checking fluid levels, and wear .and. tear items; and other duties as required or assigned. Examples of Work: (Illustrative only) Delivers variety of products to customers on a daily basis in a prompt efficient manner. Unloads and properly checks each order for accuracy. Rotates all perishable products upon delivery. Assist customers in putting freight away if required. Perform daily preventative maintenance, cleaning and delivery vehicle, including fluid levels. Writes credits and returns as needed from customers. Tallies and records all transaction during daily route, properly checks in and totals daily receipt when route completed. Performs freight pickups as required during daily route. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Basic knowledge of products sold; ability to follow directives and to complete task correctly and in a timely manner; ability to enter act with general public on a daily basis; ability to be polite and courteous at all times during route; ability to communicate well and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel in departments, and with department supervisors; basic mechanical abilities; basic math and reading skills.
